DEDICATED TO THE PANTHER, THE “INTO THE WILD” EXHIBITION COMES TO THE POST OFFICE MUSEUM IN GUANGZHOU

A creative and travelling installation, “Into the Wild” was on display in China for the first time throughout April.

Conceived as an initiatory and educational journey to learn all about the Maison’s emblematic animal, the exhibition offered an immersive experience animated by original innovations. It was a journey through the history and style of the Panther, to which the actor and ambassador of the Maison, Chang Chen, welcomed the visitor at the entrance in the form of a hologram. The first appearance of the Panther, in a meeting with Jeanne Toussaint, was an approach to design and savoir-faire; through an interactive and original scenography, the exhibition covered all the facets of the Cartier Panthère. Visitors followed the panther’s tracks through several spaces: the olfactory room, the cinema room, Jeanne Toussaint’s office... all the way to the library where they could create their own Panther style.

An Exploration of Architecture & Purity in Geneva

The most architectural Cartier creations seem to be built of light, dazzling refractions caused by an interplay of gems and different diamond cuts. Geometric and calibrated, they reflect the light infinitely. As one of the signatures of the Maison’s style, the theme of Architecture & Purity became the basis of an experience and series of events in Geneva, including a public exhibition of exceptional architectural creations and short demonstrations of the complexity of baguette-cut diamonds. A guided champagne tasting and a diamond-setting experience completed the program. In an intimate gathering, the Maison’s clients were invited to meet one of Cartier’s diamond experts and discover the secrets of savoir-faire required to create these pieces.

Precious Stones Take Up Residence on London’s New Bond Street

The first stop-off in a series of travelling experiences began in April in the United Kingdom, where visitors were invited to the Maison’s emblematic New Bond Street boutique to explore Cartier’s savoir-faire and heritage relating to colored precious stones: rubies, emeralds and sapphires. The creations displayed showcased the distinct aesthetics cultivated by the Maison that display both the brilliance and the color of these stones at their most sublime − whether alone or in unprecedented combinations − a thread that runs from historic creations to the present day.

“Time Unlimited” in Seoul: an immersive watchmaking journey

At 121 Wangsimni in the Seongdong-Gu district, Cartier unveiled its “Time Unlimited” exhibition, open to the public and designed by French-Canadian designer Willo Perron, around the company’s major watchmaking themes: pure forms, pioneering spirit, design culture and expertise in the world of beauty.

In this immersive exhibition, which ran from June 1st to June 18th, each piece invited visitors to discover new aspects of Cartier watchmaking. A library of shapes retraced the history of the Maison’s watchmaking repertoire, a film plunged visitors into the Paris of the Belle Époque and the beginnings of the Maison, watchmaking icons were in turn staged to evoke the Culture of Design and innovation was pushed to the limit in an interactive journey of savoir-faire and curiosity.

A look back at Watches & Wonders 2023, the year’s flagship event in Geneva

From revisited classics to creative collections in line with the Maison’s DNA, 2023 focused on the notion of the eternal cycle of time. The process of transformation allowed Cartier watchmaking to surprise and reinvent itself without compromising its heritage.

Three watches took part in the exercise: the Clash [Un]limited watch, which takes after and redefined the aesthetic heritage of the Clash collection, the Baignoire watch, with its exquisite oval dial that inspired Cartier to create an all-gold bracelet, and finally, the Santos-Dumont watch, whose new skeleton movement paid tribute to the aviator.

Between cultural dialogues and Vincent Leroy’s artistic installations, the show’s current events inspired Cartier to build many artistic bridges with numerous disciplines.

Inspired by the place where they are created, they are made by French or local artisans. 163 pieces have been created since 2011 and, in 2022, 43 orders were placed. 91 boutiques around the world are decorated with unique artworks, and many more are still to come.
